About This Activity

This is the continuation of the DaF Level 1 course from the Fall Semester. Students in DaF Level 1 must be able to read and write in their native language. German language competency required to enroll in DaF Level 1 – Spring Semester: Understanding: The student should be able to understand basic words and simple phrases. Speaking: The student should have a basic repertoire of words and phrases. He/she should be also able to speak the sounds of the phonetic table. Reading: The student should be familiar with the phonetics and be able to read the first words in his/her native language. The alphabetizing process should have been started in his/her native language. The student should be able to read simple phrases learned in class. Writing: The student should be familiar with the phonetics and be able to write the first words in his/her native language. The alphabetizing process should have been started. The student should be able to write simple words and phrases in class. Grammar: The student should have an intuitive understanding of Grammar. The Starter Set of Paul, Lisa & Co. is designed to support the student’s natural use of language. Therefore, no explanatory Grammar exercises will be given in this stage of language learning.
