About This Activity

This is an A1 level German as a foreign language course for children in Grades 1-3. German language competency required to enroll in DaF Level 2 – Fall Semester: Understanding: The student should be able to understand basic words and simple phrases. Speaking: The student should have a basic repertoire of words and phrases. He/she should be also able to speak the sounds of the phonetic table. Reading: The student should be familiar with the phonetics and able to read the first words in his/her native language. The alphabetizing process should have been started in his/her native language. The student should be able to read simple phrases learned in class. Reading materials: Paul, Lisa & Co work and course book. Writing: The student should be familiar with the phonetics and able to read the first words in his/her native language. The alphabetizing process should have been started. The language learner should be able to write simple words and phrases in class. Writing material: Paul, Lisa & Co. Grammar: The student should have gained an intuitive understanding of Grammar. The Starter Set of Paul, Lisa & Co. is designed to support the students’ natural use of language. Therefore, no explanatory Grammar exercises will be given in this stage of language learning.
