About This Activity

German language competency required enrolling in DaZ Level 5 – Fall Semester: Understanding: The student should be able to understand and follow a regular conversation. He/she should have an expanded vocabulary encompassing family, friends, school, leisure, and sports. Speaking: The student should have a basic vocabulary to express their needs, opinions, and ideas. He/she should be able to have a simple conversation using short sentences. The student should be aware of the correct use of phonetics, and should be able to correct his/her own pronunciation. Reading: The student should be able to independently read simple sentences. He/she should be able to understand instructions, texts and information in the work materials (reading comprehension). Writing: The student should be able to write longer sentences. He/she should be able to write a story based on images in a sequence (Bildergeschichte). Grammar: The student should be able to apply correct sentence structure. The language learner should be able to apply more frequently the correct articles and be able to understand abstract nouns. He/she should be able to use some conjugation and declination. The student should be familiar with an increasing number of nouns and verbs.
