About This Activity
This is the continuation of the Fall Semester course. Students who have not taken the Fall Semester course are strongly advised to discuss the placement with the Head of Saturday School prior to enrollment. German language competency required to enroll in Older Beginner Accelerated 1 - Spring Semester: Understanding: The student should be able to understand basic words and simple phrases learned in class. Speaking: The student should have a basic repertoire of words and phrases. S/he should be to apply these phrases in simple conversations. Reading: The student should be able to read simple phrases learned in class. Reading materials: Beste Freunde A 1.1 work and course book. Writing: The student should be able to write simple words and phrases learned in class. Writing material: Beste Freunde A 1.1 Grammar: The student should have gained a basic understanding of German grammar. The following topics should be learned: verbs like spielen, sein, heißen, haben; nouns and articales in nominative, personal nouns, negation, preposition and defined and undefined articales, modal verbs, polite form “Sie”.
