This is an A2 German as a foreign language course for children in Grades 4-9. German language competency required enrolling in Older Beginner Accelerated 2 - Fall Semester: Understanding: The student should understand phrases and frequently used words related to daily life situations. The student should be familiar with words and phrases about family, school and hobbies. Photos or any kind of visualizing material could be used to support the understanding. Speaking: The student should be able to use the present tense as well as the perfect tense in sentences. He/she should be able to use the words and phrases learned in class to have a short conversation about specific topics. Reading: The student should be able to read simple texts like letters and emails. Writing: The student should be able to write simple sentences with given phrases in a letter or email format. He/she should be able to fill gaps in short sentences with some accuracy. Grammar: The student should be familiar with numbers and the articles der, die, das. He/she should know how to change nouns in dative and accusative; conjugation; and use of present tense and past tense in verbs. The language learner should be able to apply sub-clauses with weil/dass/wenn.
