California a-g + NCAA Approved. Open to rising 9th-12th graders. Each term represents a single semester of 5 credits. Both terms must be taken for a full year of 10 credits. Using definitions, basic postulates and theorems, students will learn to solve problems involving triangles, other polygons, circles and solids. Other elements consist of areas of plane figures, areas and volumes of solids and the applications of coordinate geometry and basic trigonometry. The course includes a constant review of arithmetic and algebraic skills. Textbook: Geometry, Glencoe (0-07-829637-4) Prepares students for: Geometry Honors, Algebra 2, Chemistry Note: This course is for students from local schools who do not attend Saint Francis High School.
