About This Activity
If you’ve ever read a fairytale or folktale and said, “Hm, I think this story would be better if…” then you’ll love this brand new class! In this class, with the assistance and guidance of their teacher, students will choose a well known fairytale or folktale to rewrite and perform. Students will learn basic story structure and character development while writing a shortened version of their chosen story, be cast in the show and get to work on making strong acting choices, vocal inflection, and communicating through physicality. On the final day of class, students will get to perform their rewritten fairytale/folklore for family and friends. (Ages 10-13) The final performance will be at 5:15 pm pm on Friday, December 12th. There is no class on 10/31, 11/28 ***PYT's CLASS CANCELLATION/TRANSFER POLICY: - All cancellation or transfer requests must be made in writing to caitlyn@pytnet.org - Up to one week prior to the class start date: a full refund can be provided for cancellations minus a $50 fee. Transfer requests are subject to availability and will be charged a $25 transfer fee - Transfer requests during the first week of classes are subject to a $50 transfer fee - No transfers are allowed after the first week of classes
