This course is a continuation of DaF 2 and continues with Paul, Lisa and Co. It is a more advanced level of A2 and requires previous knowledge from the series. It is designed to be a foreign language course for children in Grades 2-4. German language competency required to enroll in DaF Level 3 – Fall Semester: Understanding: The student should be able to understand basic words and simple phrases. Speaking: The student should have a basic repertoire of words and phrases. He/she should be also able to speak the sounds of the phonetic table. Reading: The student should be familiar with the phonetics and able to read words in his/her native language. The alphabetizing process should be understood in his/her native language. The student should be able to read simple phrases learned in class. Reading materials: Paul, Lisa & Co work and course book – level A1.2. Writing: The student should be familiar with the phonetics and able to read the words in his/her native language. The alphabetizing process should be understood. The language learner should be able to write simple words and phrases in class. Writing material: Paul, Lisa & Co. Grammar: The student should have gained an intuitive understanding of Grammar. Paul, Lisa & Co. Starter and A1.1 are designed to support the students’ natural use of language. Therefore, no explanatory Grammar exercises will be given in this stage of language learning.
