This course is open only to Saint Francis High School students who meet the requirements to take Geometry for advancement. See https://www.sfhs.com/summer/high-school/trigonometry-geometry-advancement for details. For rising 9th graders, you will only receive a Summer at Saint Francis transcript. This will not apply to the 4-year high school transcript. Rising 9th graders are eligible to qualify for Algebra 2 or Algebra 2 Honors based upon their summer grade. California a-g + NCAA Approved. Open to rising 9th-12th graders. Each term represents a single semester of 5 credits. Both terms must be taken for a full year of 10 credits. Using definitions, basic postulates and theorems, students will learn to solve problems involving triangles, other polygons, circles and solids. Other elements consist of areas of plane figures, areas and volumes of solids and the applications of coordinate geometry and basic trigonometry. The course includes a constant review of arithmetic and algebraic skills. Textbook: Geometry, Glencoe (0-07-829637-4) Prerequisites: Algebra 1 Prepares students for: Geometry Honors, Algebra 2, Chemistry Note for UC Subject Requirement "C": A geometry course or an integrated math course with a sufficient amount of geometry content must be completed.
