Register to submit a video audition for PYT's production of "SHREK". Videos are due to auditions@pytnet.org by 12pm on August 24. All who audition will be cast provided they are willing to accept any role and do not have excessive conflicts (more than 8 dates). NOTE: PYT offers video auditions as an option for anyone who is unavailable to attend audition weekend in person. However, our casting team vastly prefers seeing actors audition in person to best understand their talents and assign an ideal role. Registration includes the participation fee and general costume expense (except for shoes, basic stage makeup and undergarments such as leotards, tights, undershirts, and bike shorts). Families must commit to a minimum of 25 hours of production support. Training will be provided. Auditions are open to actors age 8-18. Actors must be 8 years old by 9/1/25 to participate in the main cast. Ages 5-7 may join our Young Performers Ensemble without an audition. Callbacks will be scheduled 6-9pm August 25-27. Rehearsals begin the first week of September. They will be held weekdays (except Tuesdays) from 6:30 to 9pm & Saturdays 10am to 2pm. Actors will only be called as needed. Performances Dates & Times: Sat, Nov 8 @ 2 PM & 7:30 PM Sun, Nov 9 @ 1 PM Thurs, Nov 13 @ 9:30 AM* Fri, Nov 14 @ 9:30 AM* Sat, Nov 15 @ 2 PM & 7:30 PM Sun, Nov 16 @ 1 PM Technical rehearsals are Nov. 3-7 from 5-10pm. No absences are allowed for tech rehearsals or performances. We expect to have two full casts for this production who will each perform in 4 shows. *PLEASE NOTE: As part of PYT’s community outreach, we present special weekday morning performances of our productions for school groups in the area. "SHREK" will be performed on Thursday, November 13 and Friday, November 14 at 9:30AM. Cast members should be prepared to miss school to perform with their cast. The length of the show will be approximately two hours and 15 minutes. Actors should be able to return to school by 1PM.
