Be prepared to respond when a child needs help. This hands-on course, taught by an experienced first responder, is designed for parents, grandparents, babysitters, teachers, coaches, childcare providers, and anyone responsible for the care of infants and children. Participants will learn how to recognize medical emergencies, provide first aid for common childhood injuries and illnesses, perform CPR, safely use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and respond to choking emergencies involving infants and children. Through realistic scenarios and practical skill practice, students will build the confidence to recognize emergencies, take immediate action, and provide care until professional responders arrive. Successful participants receive a two-year HSI Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
