MITSS Goals • Offer supplementary training opportunities for male soccer players aged 11-18 in line with Mariners identity and values • Prepare grade 11/12 students physically and tactically for post secondary soccer • Offer holistic learning opportunities – academic planning, identification process and embracing a positive student athlete lifestyle • Aimed at boys competing at rep/tier 2 and tier 1 (BCSPL), U21/Adult VISL level Train to Train, Train to Compete Development Stages This program is for motivated male soccer players who aspire to compete in post-secondary soccer and are currently competing in local and regional select programs, for those in the formative stage of their soccer journey we encourage you to focus on your local programming. The first two sessions will be used as an evaluation to ensure the training groups are in line with the CSA developmental stages. U13 - U16: 5pm - 6:30pm, U17/U18: 6pm - 7:30pm Program Logistics U13: Introduction to working in units whilst imposing individuality in the game U14/U15: Understanding roles in and out of possession. Enhancing your abilities in the 11v11 game U16/U17: Implementing strategies to affect the opposition and dictate games. Advice on physical preparation for post secondary soccer *U18: Learn the Mariners playing identity and team values.
