About This Activity
This energetic movement workshop will focus on dance technique for musical theatre artists while exploring the original choreography from several popular Broadway shows! Emphasis will be placed on incorporating the performance skills necessary to connect with an audience and storytelling through dance. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and shoes that they can move in. All skill levels are welcome! Instructor: Joseph Lyons-Wolf (he/him) is a movement artist currently residing in the greater Indianapolis area. His body of work includes directing and choreographing for regional theaters, education and engagement for Disney on Broadway, and university instruction. His education includes a B.M. in Musical Theatre from Oklahoma City University, an M.A. in Educational Theatre from New York University, and an M.F.A. in Choreography from Jacksonville University. Joseph currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre, Jazz, and Tap Dance at Ball State University. Favorite artistic credits include The Nutcracker (Ball State University), Spring Awakening (Gonzaga University), and Into the Woods (Whitworth University). www.josephlyonswolf.com
