Learn the art of Silversmithing! Beginners welcome! In this class we will learn the core skills of silversmithing. Over the course of the month, we will learn: - foundational skills and techniques of silversmithing - annealing, stamping, sawing, drilling - safety protocol and best practices - sanding and polishing techniques - bending and shaping silver wire - how to make bezels and set stones - we will create pendants, earrings, cuffs, and rings We will use torches and work with hot materials, so please wear closed toed shoes, long pants, and wear your hair up, if necessary. Respect for safety protocol is required. After class, you’ll go home with all of your new handmade sterling silver jewelry, a binder full of resources on suppliers, troubleshooting tips, and reference sheets for the skills you acquired in class. Classes meet from 9am-1pm, Wednesdays in July (9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th) Class capacity is 6 students, ages 13 and older, $800 tuition per student. Jenny is a full-time silversmith operating her jewelry business Sedona Rose Studio from her home in the hills outside of Nashville. You can check out her Instagram, as well. She has taught silversmithing to hundreds of students in-person and online and many of them have gone on to create jewelry businesses of their own. She wants to share her love for this trade and the fulfillment it brings with as many people as possible.
