Ready to get messy and make something unforgettable? In Fun with Fabric, teens will explore a wide range of fabric dyeing techniques that transform simple materials into bold, expressive works of art. Campers will experiment with twisting, tying, dripping, painting, layering, and resist methods to create striking patterns using techniques such as shibori, tie-dye, resist dyeing, and eco dyeing. Each day offers new opportunities to test color combinations, observe how dyes interact with fabric, and push creative boundaries. Students will design original patterns and apply them to wearable and functional items, which may include t-shirts, tote bags, bandanas, and hats. This camp emphasizes experimentation, design thinking, and hands-on discovery—perfect for teens who enjoy creative risk-taking and tactile processes. By the end of camp, students will: -Learn multiple fabric dyeing techniques and how to apply them intentionally -Understand color mixing, layering, and pattern development on fabric -Develop design planning skills from concept to finished piece -Practice creative experimentation and problem-solving -Build confidence working with materials and embracing unexpected results -Create original, wearable art projects to take home No prior experience is required—just curiosity, creativity, and clothes you don’t mind getting colorful! On the final day of camp, we invite parents to a special reception to celebrate their young artists and to see the work your children have created throughout the week.
