Instructor: Anna McDowell Step into the expressive world of mixed media drawing and painting where experimentation, texture, and storytelling come together. In this hands-on camp, students will explore how materials like acrylic paint, pen, charcoal, and watercolor can be layered and combined to create dynamic, visually rich artwork. Through guided projects, students will create texture using natural materials, experiment with styrofoam printmaking, and design magazine collages inspired by a favorite song. They’ll also develop drawing skills through one-point perspective featuring popular Nashville locations, learning how to create depth and space. As they work, students will practice blending, layering, and combining mediums while discovering how each material influences the final piece. This camp encourages creativity, risk-taking, and personal expression, leaving students with unique artworks and greater confidence in their artistic voice. On the final day of camp, we invite parents to a special reception to celebrate their young artists and to see the work your children have created throughout the week.
