Instructor: Jessica Lewis In this hands-on printmaking camp, teens will experiment with gel plate monoprinting, drypoint etching, and linocut carving while discovering how original prints can be transformed into bold, repeating patterns. Students will explore how artists and designers adapt handmade artwork for use in contemporary products and interior spaces. Using digital mockups, campers will learn how to visualize their designs on wallpaper, fabric, and everyday objects—bridging traditional printmaking with modern design thinking. No purchasing required; the focus is on creative problem-solving, craftsmanship, and understanding how artwork evolves from paper into real-world applications. Students will: -Learn foundational printmaking techniques, including monoprinting, etching, and relief carving -Develop an understanding of pattern design and repeat systems -Build craftsmanship through careful carving, inking, and printing processes -Explore how fine art connects to graphic design, interiors, and product design -Practice creative problem-solving and visual planning -Gain experience using digital tools to present artwork in real-world contexts On the final day of camp, we invite parents to a special reception to celebrate their young artists and to see the work your children have created throughout the week.
