Patient safety and quality care are essential to effective healthcare delivery, and nurse leaders play a central role in creating systems that support both. This e-learning module, Care That Counts: Patient Safety and Quality in Nursing Leadership, explores the intersection of leadership, safety, and quality improvement in clinical practice. Learners will examine key frameworks, policies, and regulations that guide patient safety initiatives while analyzing real-world case studies that demonstrate successful quality improvements. The course also provides practical strategies for applying evidence-based approaches to enhance care delivery and outcomes within healthcare settings. Designed for nurse leaders at all levels, this module strengthens the ability to foster a culture of safety and continuous quality improvement across teams and organizations. Vanderbilt University School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation. To earn continuing education credit, participants must complete both the Nurse Leader pre-assessment and post-assessment. Upon successful completion, learners will be awarded 0.75 ANCC contact hours.
