Financial acumen is an essential competency for nurse leaders, directly influencing the ability to deliver safe, high-quality, and sustainable care. This e-learning module, From Bedside to Bottom Line: Financial Acumen for Nurse Leaders, equips participants with foundational financial knowledge tailored to nursing leadership. Learners will explore key healthcare financial concepts, gain confidence in interpreting budget reports and financial statements, and examine how financial decisions impact staffing, resources, and patient outcomes. The course also focuses on evaluating cost-saving strategies while maintaining quality and safety standards, and on advocating for fiscally responsible decisions that align with clinical priorities. Designed for nurse leaders at all levels, this module strengthens the ability to integrate financial stewardship into everyday leadership practice and real-world decision-making. Vanderbilt University School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation. To earn continuing education credit, participants must complete both the Nurse Leader pre-assessment and post-assessment. Upon successful completion, learners will be awarded 0.75 ANCC contact hours.
