About This Activity
Step into a world of imagination, curiosity, and wonder in this magical book club centered around The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles by Julie Andrews! Led by Kendra Andrus, Language Arts teacher at the Curve, this one-day workshop for 3rd–5th graders combines thoughtful book discussion with fun, hands-on activities inspired by the story’s whimsical world. Students will dive into the adventures of the three Potter children as they use imagination, creativity, and courage to reach the land of the Whangdoodle. Along the way, we'll explore themes of friendship, persistence, and the power of belief through creative writing, games, food, and crafts that bring the book to life. Whether your child has already read the book or is just beginning the journey, this workshop is the perfect way to celebrate reading, creativity, and the joy of storytelling! Students need to read the book or listen to the audio book before the Book Club. **All workshops include a break for lunch and outside/inside play with friends.
