About This Activity
Summer means it’s time for camp at Upturn Arts! Join us for 12 weeks of exciting weekly camps from May 19 to August 15, designed for young artists ages 4 to 12. Our talented teaching artists offer classes in theater, music, dance, and visual arts. Young artists enjoy time with their friends in a fun, creative environment, where they are encouraged to find their artistic voice and create original works of art. We focus on individuality, discovery, and exploration in each class. Each week features a unique theme inspired by the rich arts and culture of New Orleans. On Fridays, local master artists will showcase their talents in a one-of-a-kind workshop experience. Past guests include Tank & the Bangas, Cha Wa, Capoeira Nola, and Jaqueline Ehle Inglefield. Camp is closed on May 26-30, June 19-20 (Juneteenth), and July 4 (Independence Day). Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are not provided. Aftercare is from 3-5 PM, $20 per day, and can be added online through your Active account or by contacting registration@upturnarts.org. Beforecare is from 8:30-9 AM, $5 per day, and can be paid daily or weekly through Venmo at drop off. Early bird pricing ends on May 12. Registration closes on August 14 at 11:59 PM.
