The Creative Writing Club will serve as a place for young writers to express themselves, learn about different types of creative writing (poetry, fiction, memoir, etc.). The students will also learn to engage in workshop setting where they will be able to present their work to their peers, and give and receive constructive feedback. Each session will begin with tea and chill time to regroup after school. We will explore various writing prompts with a focus on free association. Each student will receive their own notebook, and we will discuss various writing practices, and rituals. The culmination of the club will be their creation of a literary magazine which students will create themselves. A reading for friends, family and fellow students will also be a capstone event. Hoping for a field trip as well. Instructor: Liz Solms
