Step inside the magic of professional music production at an exclusive Recording Workshop for young musicians, held at Ani DiFranco’s home studio with producer Mike Napolitano. Led by renowned musician Tif Lamson (drummer for Shania Twain and co-creator of GIVERS) alongside acclaimed local producer and sound engineer Bob Gaiser, students will explore the building blocks of recording—from mic placement and tracking to layering and production—while watching professional musicians record live and answering questions in real time. Each participant will then have the opportunity to record their own musical contribution to be featured on the Creature Academy Anthem, an epic rock ballad and the soundtrack to our Spring Break Camp music video. Designed for students with intermediate to advanced proficiency, this intimate workshop (limited to just 12 students) offers hands-on experience in a professional studio setting. Students may bring their own instruments, and select instruments—including drums—will be available for use. ADDRESS: The recording studio is located Uptown, by Oak St and River Rd. Because this is a home studio, the address will be emailed directly to the enrolled participants. SLIDING SCALE PRICING: $10-$40 This workshop is made possible by a grant from the Threadhead Foundation. In addition to sponsoring the artists, they are providing scholarship support. When enrolling, select the price that works for your budget. No application required.
