About This Activity
In this Songwriting Workshop, young artists will help create the Creature Academy Anthem—an epic rock ballad that will become the soundtrack to our Spring Break Camp music video! Led by the renowned musician Tif Lamson (drummer for Shania Twain and co-creator of GIVERS) alongside acclaimed local producer and sound engineer Bob Gaiser, students will dive into the building blocks of great songs—exploring structure, verses, choruses, hooks, and lyric writing. Together, we’ll draft lyrics for the anthem while also giving students the opportunity to work in small groups or individually to create original songs of their own, building skills and confidence along the way. No songwriting experience is required—just a love for music and a spark of creativity! The finished song and music video will premiere at our Rock the 10 Fundraiser on May 9th at Cafe Istanbul 🎸✨ SLIDING SCALE PRICING: $10-$40 This workshop is made possible by a grant from the Threadhead Foundation.
