About This Activity
Get ready to race! Join us for the annual Creature Horse Races, a fantastical Thanksgiving tradition at Creature Academy! This camp celebrates imagination, teamwork, and a little friendly competition. Campers will dream up original characters, create creature and horse masks, craft trophies, bake delicious treats for the concession stand, and transform Clouet Gardens into a race track! The session culminates in the Creature Horse Races at Clouet Gardens, where students will team up in pairs and race for the chance to take home 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place! Race Day Details Location: Clouet Gardens, 710 Clouet St. (Just a few blocks from camp)
Time: Wednesday, November 25, 3:30–5:30pm To participate in the races, students must be picked up from camp and brought to Clouet Gardens by 3:30pm. Please note: We are not officially offering aftercare on Wednesday, November 25 due to the races. If you need aftercare in order for your child to participate in the full camp session, please reach out—we’ll make it work! This camp is inspired by the Human Horse Races, a beloved New Orleans Thanksgiving Day tradition. The event raises funds and awareness for local animal sanctuaries—all in wonderfully weird, classic New Orleans style!
