About This Activity
Introduce your young artist to the exciting world of ceramics! In this six-week studio class, students will learn the fundamentals of handbuilding through demonstrations of essential techniques including pinch pots, coil building, and slab construction. As their confidence grows, they'll be encouraged to combine these methods to create imaginative sculptures and functional pottery that reflect their own ideas and creativity. Designed for beginners while offering opportunities for returning students to build on their skills, this class emphasizes problem-solving and artistic expression in a supportive studio environment. During the final class, students will glaze their finished pieces, bringing color and personality to their work before it is kiln-fired for a final time. Families will be notified when completed artwork is ready for pickup after firing.
