About This Activity

This class offers a 4-week hands-on introduction to foundational metalsmithing techniques, including sawing and piercing, drilling, filing, stamping, soldering, and stone setting. Students will apply these skills to create their own jewelry piece or small collection, such as a bracelet, key chain, pendant, ring, or earrings. Whether you’re completely new to jewelry making or looking to build practical skills, this class is a great place to start. ‍ Prerequisites: No prior experience required ‍ Materials: Note: Starred*items could be purchased and retained by the Academy for students to share; +Items will be supplied by Molly ‍‍ Supply fee includes all materials needed besides: - Stones/bezel settings (Teacher can provide some starter cabochon stones, or you may bring in your own stones for setting, instructor will reach out about more specifics on supplies) Tools provided by the Academy : - Saw frame and 2/0 blades - Needle nose pliers - Flat nose pliers - Round pliers - Nippers - Hand Files - Hammers - Copper sheet - Copper wire - Blank medallions - Sterling jump rings - Stamps - Mandrels ‍
