About This Activity
Description
Internet Registration has not begun yet. Check Registration Dates in details.
At the Y, our Youth Volleyball Clinics helps children ages 8 to 11 years old develop fundamental volleyball skills while teaching teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship. Participants will have the opportunity to learn underhand serving, setting, hitting, and digging in a non-competitive environment.
The focus of our Youth Volleyball Clinics is to have fun, meet new friends, and focus on skill development. Due to distancing guidelines, no scrimmages or games will be played.
FOR YOUR SAFETY
Please have your child wear athletic clothes and closed-toed shoes. Every child needs to bring their own water bottle and volleyball. Knee pads are suggested, but not required. Please clearly label all items you send with your child.
Spectators should bring a chair to use when watching the practices. Please do not bring food into the gym, and all liquids should be in a plastic bottle that have a secure cap.
YMCA sports are based on seven guiding principles: everyone plays, safety first, fair play, positive competition, sports for all, sports for fun, and family involvement. Our clinics are supported by parent volunteers who are engaged as coaches, referees, and raving fans.
If you are interested in being a volunteer this season, please contact Jayde Doucette at jdoucette@suncoastymca.org. There is also an area for you to indicate your volunteer interest when you are registering your child.
