About This Activity
In this studio-style course, students will dive into the exciting world of graphic novels and manga while creating original stories of their own. The class begins with brainstorming and theme selection, guiding students as they develop unique characters, design character sheets, and practice capturing emotions through illustration. From there, students will learn how to translate their stories into sequential art, breaking down plots into pages that include dialogue, narration, and visual storytelling techniques. By the end of the course, each student will have developed their own mini graphic novel, combining writing and illustration into a finished creative project.
