About This Activity
This class is for the dancer that wishes to level up their ballet technique in all areas. There will be a focus on more challenging exercises at the ballet barre. Centre stretch exercises will hone in on flexibility, mobility, and strength to create a strong foundation for future advanced level dance training. Ballet vocabulary will also be expanded to create more difficult and longer combinations across the floor. Musicality and performance quality will also be emphasized as well as more complicated choreographic patterns and formations. Ballet dance attire is worn and the class culminates in an end of semester dance performance. Prerequisite: 2 semesters of 87 Afterschool Ballet II, a combination of at least 3 semesters of 87 Afterschool Ballet I & 2, or at least 2 years of similar ballet dance experience elsewhere.
