This theater class, based on co-creation and improvisation, is a student-centered program in which children are encouraged, within a safe and respectful environment, to create characters and develop plots inspired by sound prompts. Each week, one child takes on the role of “metteur en scène” (theater director) and creates a show with the support of the entire class as a budding “troupe de théâtre”. These weekly, spontaneous co-creations embrace the diversity of the children’s interests, the range of their ideas, and the uniqueness of each child’s pace and sensitivity.
