This class blends improvisation, storytelling, and ensemble-based theater to guide students through the process of creating a devised, original performance piece. Through improv games, character development exercises, and collaborative world-building, students will imagine fantastical settings, develop unique characters, and shape a shared story together. Students will learn fundamental theater skills such as stage presence, voice and movement, focus, listening, and basic storytelling structure (beginning, middle, and end). Working as an ensemble, the class will devise and perform a one-of-a-kind, world-premiere piece of theater.
