Balance and Swing Crewis our Newest Recreational Beam & Bars Gymnastics Class! Tuesdays 530pm
This class is designed for young gymnasts who are excited to spend extra time developing their skills on the balance beam and the bars. The atmosphere stays fun and encouraging, but with a little more focus than a general recreational class.
Children work on confidence, strength, and coordination through age-appropriate drills and progressions. On the balance beam, they practice skills like mounts and dismounts, walks, balances, basic leaps, and simple acro elements, all while learning body control and proper technique. On the bars, they build upper-body strength and learn foundational skills such as swings, casts, pullovers, and transitions between low and high bar.
Coaches keep the class upbeat and supportive, offering lots of repetition, stations, and games that reinforce good form. The goal is to help each child feel proud of their progress, gain comfort on the apparatus, and develop routines that showcase their growing abilities—without the pressure of a competitive environment.
- Please wear appropriate workout clothing (leotards recommended but not required).
- Hair must be kept back.
- Please remove jewelry before class.
- Bring a water bottle. Parents are welcome to stay to watch class.
- Please stay seated in the chair area and keep the mat area clear for class.
- Please keep shoes off of the mats.
- Please keep nonparticipating children off the mats and equipment.
- Please have athletes remove socks prior to class.
- For your child's safety, warm-ups are required to attend classes. If your child arrives late to a class, warm up must be completed to participate.
- Make-ups You may make up a class by attending another class of a comparable level. Please use make-ups within the current session. Instructors can advise as to comparable class levels and times. Please notify instructor when using a make-up.
