Students will learn basic sword etiquette (the proper way to handle a sword) and progress to learning the sei tei Kata of the All Japan Kendo Federation. Students will also be trained in the art of Ken-jutsu (the art of sword fencing) and Kendo (the art of sport fencing). The Class instructor has more than 30 years of experience. The minimum equipment for this class is a bokken (wooden sword); the instructor can assist in purchasing this if needed. Progressive ranking is offered through Chikubu-Kai. If you decide to continue, a $30 annual fee is required, payable to the instructor, for membership in Chikubu-Kai.
