About This Activity

The Art of Printmaking Ages 6 - 10 Printmaking has found its way across history. Well-known artists such as Picasso, Andy Warhol, and Matisse used printmaking to reach new audiences. During the Great Depression, the Works Progress Administration paid artists to make prints commemorating the National Parks and other important causes during the time. Today, printmaking is considered its own practice and there have been a variety of methods developed. During this week-long camp, student will explore different types of printmaking techniques and processes including linoleum prints, reduction printing, collagraphs, eraser stamping, and even processes using unusual materials. The camp day begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends promptly at 4:00 p.m.
