About This Activity
Yoga Color Stories June 17- 21 Barbara Schlegel Combining yoga with the art and creativity of color stories, children will explore the color wheel, identifying color stories in art, nature and their own experiences. Children will learn that colors are assigned to the body's yogic energy centers (chakras) and corresponding yoga poses, how to incorporate color into the breath, and how to express themselves in color. Introducing a yoga practice through color-themed art projects helps children visualize ways to self-regulate and stay healthy. Through creating color wheels, drawing mandalas, tie-dying, and more color-themed art projects and activities, children will learn about the different aspects of yoga represented by each color, and develop a deeper appreciation for the connection between yoga and the world around them. They will also learn to express their creativity through various art techniques and develop a sense of mindfulness and relaxation through yoga practices.
