About This Activity
Description
Discover the joys of making music in Spanish through songs and activities from Spain and Latin America. Children, with a caregiver, participate in musical activities such as singing songs and lullabies, chants, simple finger plays, wiggles, bounces, listening, and movement. Perfect for both native Spanish and English speakers!
Each week, simple percussion instruments are used and concepts such as body/spatial awareness, numbers, and colors are reinforced through musical play. Participants receive guidance on children's musical development, along with tools that support the creation of a nurturing musical environment at home.
Whether you want to continue the Spanish your child already speaks at home or would just like to introduce your child to songs and dances in Spanish, this is a wonderful way to experience music with your child. No previous knowledge of Spanish is necessary.
Class activities and benefits include:
- Opportunities to play basic percussion instruments such as shakers and drums
- Repertoire of songs and activities in Spanish to use at home
- Age-appropriate musical activities that support childhood development
- Fostering of social development and exploration
- Reinforcement of Spanish skills
Cada semana se utilzan instrumentos de percusión básicos, y se refuerzan conceptos como por ejemplo concienca corporal/espacial, números, y colores a través de juegos musicales. Los adultos reciben orientación sobre el desarrollo musical de los niños, asi como herramientas que apoyan la creación de un ambiente musical en el hogar.
Actividades y beneficios de la clase incluyen:
- Oportunidades para tocar instrumentos de percusión básicos.
- Repertorio de canciones y actividades en español para el seguimiento en casa después de la clase.
- Actividades musicales apropiadas para la edad que apoyan el desarrollo infantil
