About This Activity
Description
Interested in nature and science and want to make an impact by contributing to real-world science while having fun? In each 4-week session we will: learn what it means to be a Citizen Scientist, explore the natural world, discover how to identify organisms, conduct experiments, and collect data to help contribute to ongoing real-world research activities. Participants will get to choose projects, conduct field work, and interact with professionals in the environmental field to gain a better understanding of what it means to do environmental science.
Program Information:
- Program is held indoors and outdoors.
- Hiking footwear is recommended. Trails have periodic benches for resting.
- Distance traveled will be between 1.5 and 3 miles.
- Outdoor surfaces traveled on in this program include: gravel and dirt trails with roots and uneven surfaces, wetland areas with mud and roots, and steep hills.
- This program includes visual, auditory and tactile elements.
