Explore the diversity of the unique geology of Rockwood Park. Participants will embark on an hour-long hike with an environmental educator and learn how to identify common rocks and minerals.Program information:
- Program is held outdoors.
- Guardians are required to accompany participants, no drop-offs.
- Hiking footwear that can get wet is recommended. Trails have periodic benches for resting.
- It is recommended to dress participants in weather-appropriate clothing and bring a water bottle.
- Distance traveled will be between 0.5 and 1 mile.
- Outdoor surfaces traveled on in this program include: paved trails, dirt trails with roots and uneven surfaces, and creek beds.
- This program includes visual, auditory, and tactile elements.
