Sea Star Production's mission is to empower young people to use their gifts and confidently shine through the performing arts. We provide young, aspiring artists with the opportunity to grow, forge lasting friendships, perform, create unforgettable memories and shine, all through the joy of Musical Theatre. As Musical Theatre requires performers to be triple threat artists we are offering two new and exciting classes this fall: Musical Theatre: Acting and Singing Technique and Musical Theatre: Dance Technique. Both classes are carefully curated to develop the skills required to be a true Musical Theatre performer. In this class students with very little or no previous dance experience will be introduced to the fundamental elements of dance technique. We will focus on learning the most important technical elements of dance such as alignment, turnout, use of the foot, coordination of the arms and head, transfer of weight, jumping and turning through creative movements utilizing ballet, jazz and modern movement vocabulary and fun music. Students will be taught in a way that engages their body and their brain, providing a solid base on which students will be able to build dance skills and confidence in movement, no matter their performance goals. This class will be taught by the talented, Jamison Rigazzi. Jamison is a current student at UVIC studying Education in Elementary & Psychology. She is a professionally trained dancer, having years of experience with dance competitions & performances all over B.C. She has also completed her Royal Academy of Dance ballet examinations with distinctions. She is super excited to teach this September and can’t wait for her class to start! To celebrate these new classes starting we are providing a 10% discount when students join both classes.
