This hands-on summer camp introduces students to the exciting world of competitive robotics, with a focus on the VEX Robotics and FIRST Robotics competition frameworks. Students will explore how real robotics teams design, build, and program robots to solve complex challenges in a collaborative, team-based environment. Participants will gain practical experience working directly with robotics platforms, including: Building and assembling robot systems Learning the fundamentals of mechanical design Programming basic robot behaviors and controls Understanding game strategy and competition formats Throughout the camp, students will work in teams to tackle mini design challenges inspired by real competition scenarios, developing problem-solving skills, creativity, and confidence in engineering. This camp is ideal for students who are curious about robotics, enjoy hands-on learning, and are interested in participating in future competitions. It also serves as an excellent starting point for students considering joining the Access2Innovate Foundation Robotics Academy for the 2026–2027 season, providing foundational skills and exposure to the expectations of competitive robotics programs. No prior robotics experience is required—just curiosity and a willingness to learn.
