Micro Memoir Workshop for ages 16+ Instructor: Patrick Gibson January 24 Day: Saturday Time: 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM 1-day workshop: (M) $40; (NM) $44 Students bring supplies (.pdf list available online) Have you always wanted to write a memoir or were curious about the process? This workshop will focus on Micro-Memoir, a means to vibrantly write about a single event. Using class exercises and clues from a photo, memento, or memory, students will learn to design their writing voice, establish their memoir’s arc, and choose a writing vessel (prose, letter, poem, etc.) that fits their episode. Workshop goal is for students to leave with a draft that captures a single event from their life. These events can be tied together to build a broader memoir. Please bring a photo, memento, or a memory to write from. Also bring a notebook and pen or laptop to record your work.
