Girls Level 1x is part of our Developmental Program. One of the primary goals of the Developmental Program is to prepare gymnasts for competitive level gymnastics. This is an advanced level class for participants who have mastered basic level gymnastics skills and have developed adequate strength to work on higher level skills. Participants are disciplined and eager to learn. *This class is by invitation only and attendance is required 2 days per week.
Curriculum includes:
- emphasis on strength, flexibility and alignment
- speed, agility and tightness for vault
- fine-tune handstands, cartwheels, forward/backward rolls, bridge kick-overs and be introduced to round-offs and back-handsprings
- further develop casting and back hip circles and be introduced to front hip circles and squat-on dismounts
- postural control, dance elements and handstands on beam
No class Tuesday, April 9 or Thursday, April 11.
What to Wear: We recommend that participants wear gymnastics style leotards or comfortable athletic style clothing like leggings/shorts and a tight fitting t-shirt.
Stay Home When Sick: If your child is sick, we kindly ask that you keep them home. Participants exhibiting cold or flu-like symptoms will not be allowed to participate. Staff reserve the right to accept or decline participants based on their assessment and discretion of any apparent signs or symptoms of illness. Thank you for your understanding.
No Make-Up Classes or Refunds for Missed Classes: The Novato Gymnastics Center does not offer make-ups, pro-rated reimbursements, or similar for missed days. Thank you for your understanding.
Class Cancellations: Cancellations are subject to a $13.00 processing fee and prorated reimbursement. No exceptions.
No Class: No class on Tuesday, April 9 or Thursday, April 11. Please refer to our online calendar at www.novatogymnastics.org for no class dates and general program reminders.
Consistent Enrollment: Consistent enrollment required in order for your child to maintain their spot in an "invitation only" class.
