About This Activity
Description
An advanced level gymnastics classes for girls ages 8-12 years who have mastered intermediate level skills and have developed adequate strength to work on higher level progressions. Participants are disciplined, eager to learn and have demonstrated attentiveness to coaching. Level 1 and 2 are part of the developmental program designed to prepare gymnasts for competitive level gymnastics. *Classes are by invitation only and attendance is required two days/week. Consistent enrollment required to maintain eligibility.
Curriculum includes:
- speed, agility, tightness and handspring training for vault
- pullover, casting, back-hip circles, front-hip circles on bars
- postural control on balance beam and handstand progressions
- foundational tumbling skills, round-offs and back-handsprings on floor
Upcoming Roof Construction: Please be aware that roof construction will be taking place soon. You may experience construction-related noise and occasional disruptions. We will stay in close communication with all program participants. We appreciate your understanding and patience. We're thrilled to have this important upgrade scheduled!
No Classes: Thursday, June 19 (Juneteenth) and Monday, June 30 through Saturday, July 6 (Week of the Fourth of July).
Location: Novato Gymnastics Center located at 950 7th Street in downtown Novato.
What to Wear: Gymnastics style leotards recommended. Alternatively, participants may wear comfortable athletic style clothing like leggings or shorts and a tight-fitting t-shirt. Torso/midriff must be covered. Gymnastics apparel available for purchase at the Novato Gymnastics Center M-Th from 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM, or shop online through our virtual store (novatogymnastics.org/store).
Stay Home When Sick: If your child is sick, we kindly ask that you keep them home. Participants exhibiting cold or flu-like symptoms will not be allowed to participate. Staff reserve the right to accept or decline participants based on their assessment and discretion of any apparent signs or symptoms of illness. Thank you for your understanding.
No Make-Up Classes or Refunds for Missed Classes: The Novato Gymnastics Center does not offer make-ups, pro-rated reimbursements, or similar for missed days. Thank you for your understanding.
Class Cancellations: Cancellations are subject to a $13.00 processing fee and prorated reimbursement. No exceptions.
