Field Event Camp (High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put, & Discus) Join us for three afternoons of intensive track and field training, focusing on four key events: high jump, long jump, shot put, and discus. This camp is designed to help athletes of all skill levels improve their technique, power, and consistency in a fun and supportive environment. Camp Details: ● Dates: Session #2 July 22-23-24 ● Time: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM daily ● Focus: High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put, and Discus ● Location: Detroit Catholic Central High School, Father Elmer Stadium, Tony Magni Track What to Expect: Over the three days, participants will: ● Receive expert coaching: Our experienced coaches will provide personalized instruction and feedback, breaking down the mechanics of each event and offering tailored drills to address individual needs. Coaches include Stacy Latnie, Madonna University Head Track and Field Coach, as well as, Calvin Sullins, Madonna University Assistant Coach. ● Refine technique: We'll cover the fundamentals and advanced techniques for each event, from approach and takeoff in the jumps to proper release and follow-through in the throws. Video analysis may be used to provide visual feedback and identify areas for improvement. ● Develop power and strength: Campers will participate in targeted exercises designed to build the strength and explosiveness necessary for maximizing performance in each event. ● Learn training strategies: We';ll discuss training principles, including proper warm-up and cool-down routines, and strategies for consistent improvement. ● Compete and connect: Campers will have the opportunity to showcase their skills in friendly competitions and connect with fellow athletes who share their passion for track and field.
