One of the best ways to beat the summer heat is to spend the week on the ice! Our Summer Hockey Camps at River Oaks Community Centre offer a great mix of skill development, powerskating, and small-area games, providing campers the chance to learn Canada's favourite game in a fun and enthusiastic environment. The goal with our summer hockey camps is to help each camper improve their fundamental hockey skills like powerskating, stickhandling, shooting, and passing, and participate in small-area games designed to transfer those new skills right into game action. Every day includes two hours of on-ice development with clear progressions in skating, stickhandling, shooting, and passing. Small-area games help players apply new skills under real pressure, encouraging quick decisions and smart puck movement. Off the ice, campers rotate through soccer, lacrosse, and flag football to develop coordination and athleticism. Groups are organized by age and ability so players are challenged appropriately and supported in a positive, team-first environment. Campers must be at least 5 years old and have prior hockey experience. Limited spots available for Goalies with goalie specific training included! Recreational Program Cancellation Policy We understand that schedules can change, but facilities, coaches, equipment, and uniforms are all organized well before the program begins and each registration plays an important role in making our programs run smoothly. For recreational programs, including weekly sessions, leagues, or school-year camps, excluding Academy teams, our cancellation policy is as follows: All cancellation requests must be made in writing at least 30-days before the program begins to receive a full refund. All cancellations are subject to a $50 administrative fee per registration. After the 30-day cancellation deadline, no refunds will be provided any program cancellations. No refunds or credits will be provided for missed sessions or sickness.
