About This Activity

Description

Embark on a dynamic two-week adventure immersing yourself in the art of filmmaking. This comprehensive camp guides students through the entire filmmaking process. Week 1: Pre-production and Script Development (July 22-26th, 2024) Dive into the foundations of filmmaking by exploring scriptwriting, casting, and the technical aspects of shooting. Gain hands-on experience with cameras, audio equipment, lighting, and special effects. Collaborate with your team to craft and develop the script, cast your film, and rehearse it, setting the stage for the creative journey ahead. Week 2: Filming and Editing (July 29th-August 2nd, 2024) Build upon the skills acquired in Week 1, delving into advanced techniques in production and post-production for filmmaking. Further explore the intricacies of cameras, audio equipment, lighting, and special effects. Collaborate in teams to shoot and edit the scripts developed in Week 1, bringing your cinematic vision to life. By the end of this two-week camp, participants will possess a comprehensive understanding of the filmmaking process. They will have successfully navigated the pre-production, production, and post-production stages, resulting in the creation of original short movies. Drop-off is available at 9:15 a.m. Don't forget to bring lunch, snacks, and a water bottle. Join us for this unique and enriching movie-making experience! Staff-to-camper ratio is 1:5 Instructor: Thurston Community Media (TCM)
