About This Activity
Description
Each day we’ll deconstruct a classic video game type, to examine what makes it work, and then build our own unique basic 8-bit style playable versions using Scratch 3 -- an amazing code environment developed at MIT especially for kids. It’s drag-and-drop interface is easy to learn and use -- a great way to expand your child’s play-time into a foundation for career potential! There’ll be time for some LEGO® building, too. Campers should already have good reading skills. The Bricks 4 Kidz approach to teaching code is fun and helps kids self-pace, so that they are challenged, but not frustrated, and able to learn and apply more each day. All campers make and take home a custom mini-figure and photo collage of the week’s experience. Please bring a snack and water bottle. For an all-day option, sign up for both morning and afternoon camps and receive half-hour early drop-off, lunch hour, and half-hour late pick-up FREE.
