About This Activity
Description
This Specialized Recreation class is designed for those who are developmentally between ages 10-13 and who are neurodivergent and/or on the autism spectrum. Partnering with South Sound Dance Access, we provide a nurturing space for creative dance that fosters motor skills, self-expression, and mind-body connection. Supported with props from Sensory Tool House LLC. Participants will explore dance styles, concept-based games, and movement elements like time, space, and direction, and have the opportunity to make their own dances!
Class will be held at the Jacob Smith House, 4500 Intelco Loop S, Lacey. Please bring your kiddo with a water bottle and in comfy clothes they can dance you’re your dancer can dance barefoot or in socks, dance shoes, or flexible tennis shoes whatever is most comfortable. Please bring headphones for your child if they benefit from wearing them. We will also have additional pairs to borrow.
