About This Activity
Description
For grades 4-8 or by permission. This is an introductory class where participants get a terrific start on their musical journey with the violin, viola, cello, or bass. Students learn the parts of the instrument, hand position, posture, and some basic techniques and will participate in a culminating concert on the evening of the last day of classes. More experienced musicians can also use this opportunity to try a “swap” instrument for the week! An instrument can be rented from one of our local music stores, and they will ensure the proper size for your student. No experience is required. Materials: Student provides instrument. Music provided. Instructor: Rydholm, Student Orchestras of Greater Olympia (SOGO) Staff
